“Good food has the power to elevate us all.”

Our Good Food Builders circle engages entrepreneurs from the natural food sector who are committed to building a better world. Through the program, we work with businesses and leaders who are doing well by the land and their people, strive to help Canadians to lead healthier lives, and are committed to using food as a force for good in this country.

Good Food Builders co-chair Peter Neal and his brother Chris co-own the natural food company Neal Brothers Foods. Launched in 1988 in their mother’s kitchen, Peter and Chris’ passion for making great-tasting, full-of-goodness food has grown into two popular brands, Neal Brothers and Enerjive.

Peter and Chris have been incredible champions and partners of Community Food Centres Canada since day one.

“We became aligned with CFCC because they believe in the power of good food for people in communities that weren’t getting it,” says Peter. “We believe good food has the power to elevate us all.”

They continue to dream up meaningful and innovative ways to support us and promote our work. Most recently, they added the Good Food Builder logo to their product packaging, signaling to consumers that Neal Brothers Foods is part of a growing network of leaders in the health food industry working together to ensure more low-income Canadians can access good food with dignity.

The brothers recently marked their 30th anniversary in business. To celebrate, they threw a streetcar party in Toronto for all their fellow Good Food Builders during the Canadian Health Food Association’s East Conference and Tradeshow held September 14-16. Congratulations on 30 years, Neal Brothers! Thanks to your generous support, you're helping to build a healthier, more inclusive Canada.
