We provide funding to Canadian organizations so they can offer impactful food programs in their communities. Market Greens grants Market Greens is a CFCC program that increases affordable access to nutritious fresh fruits and vegetables. The program aims to promote health and reduce diet-related disease risk, particularly for communities with greater barriers to healthy food access. Market Greens grants support organizations to offer targeted produce prescriptions that can be redeemed at existing low-cost community markets, or new low-cost markets established under the grant; and, to contribute to the evidence on the impacts of healthy food access through program monitoring and evaluation. There are two grant streams: New Market and Produce Subsidies Grant ($70,000 over 2 years) Produce Subsidies Grant (at an existing market) ($20,000 over 2 years) Have a look at our Grant Guidelines for all the details. Child and Youth Innovation grants This grants stream supports Good Food Organizations and Community Food Centres to offer hands-on programs for children and youth that teach food skills and encourage positive attitudes towards healthy food. Grants last one year, and grantees are required to share their models, resources, and results with other grantees and our partners organizations. Program sessions focus on developing food skills and nutrition knowledge, and group physical activity. Though a motivating environment and supportive group dynamic, FoodFit helps participants make lasting changes to their health. FoodFit grants support organizations to run the FoodFit program. Successful applicants are trained by CFCC staff on the FoodFit curriculum. We are currently not accepting applications for FoodFit grants, please check back for more updates. Our granting approach Information: Trainings, learning intensives, and resources support grantees throughout the term of the grant; Inspiration: Grantees document and share program successes with others; Implementation: Multi-year grants (the 2020 grant round will be 1 year) and community of practice.
