Markets can also increase community engagement, becoming a hub with family-friendly activities, music, cooking demos or peer support hours.

This manual is designed to be a guide for community organizations or neighbourhood leaders who want to start an affordable produce market, walking through the process step-by-step from creation to day-to-day operation. 

In it, we share the successes, challenges, and lessons learned from our partner Community Food Centres and Good Food Organizations in the hope that we can streamline the process of starting up your market or smooth out in wrinkles in your existing market.
