In a recent op-ed for the Halifax Chronicle Herald, Nick Saul writes that 2021 was a record-smashing year in many ways. The rising price of food is no exception. And as with any increase in costs not paired with wage raises or a stronger social safety net, low-income families will be hit the hardest.


"Food insecurity was highlighted in the 2020 Throne Speech, but then completely dropped in 2021. Now is the time to ask ourselves: What do we actually want to do about these issues?"
