Advocacy & Issues 04/29/2025 We congratulate Prime Minister Mark Carney, the newly elected federal government and all Members of Parliament. As Canadians cast their votes, one thing was clear: the cost of living and access to basic needs, including food, remain top concerns for communities from coast to coast to coast. Through our campaign at NoMoreScraps.ca, Canadians have sent a powerful message—that in a country as wealthy as ours, no one should struggle to put food on the table. We are ready to work with this new government, across party lines, to move beyond temporary fixes and towards lasting solutions that ensure every person in our country can afford the food they need. The challenges ahead are significant, but we believe in the power of meaningful policy reform. Even the most entrenched social issues can be addressed with political courage, a willingness to listen, and a shared commitment to dignity and fairness. The election may be over, but our work at Community Food Centres Canada continues. We invite all MPs to join us in making food security a national priority.
