When we walked into the room at the 2017 Terroir Symposium, we were amazed at how many faces we already knew. Chefs, farmers, and food-lovers are some of the strongest supporters we have, as they know the power of food not only to bring joy, but to also build health and community. And Terroir brings together so many of these innovative and creative influencers from the field of hospitality to learn, network, and build community.

Whether it’s through a delicious event, a tribute for a loved one, or a good friend, we’ve met so many generous supporters over the years who are drawn to our cause. This month, we’re profiling a few all-star donors from our Supporter Circle.

No celebration is complete without delicious food. And the menu at last month's launch celebration of the Hamilton Community Food Centre (a project of Neighbour to Neighbour Centre) took things to the next level. The stars of the show were, without a doubt, the dolma, a savoury rice-and-spice mix wrapped in grape leaves, and the kuba, whole-grain bulgur patties with beef and spices, which were made with love by a wonderful community of Kurdish and Middle Eastern women that have become very involved in the Hamilton Community Food Centre.

From April 7-9, we brought together 180 people from more than 60 of our partner Community Food Centres and Good Food Organizations to learn, share, engage, and connect at the third annual Food Summit in Toronto. We heard so many inspirational stories of change happening in communities from coast to coast, and we’ve been buzzing with energy and motivation ever since. Here are some of the most memorable moments from the weekend.
