CFCC’s first Food Summit is set to land in just a few weeks

Exciting times are ahead! At the end of this month, 100+ community food leaders will convene in Toronto for our first Food Summit! Representatives from member Good Food Organizations and staff from Community Food Centres will spend a packed weekend learning from one another and collectively exploring how to deepen their impact when it comes to running community food programs in their 29 respective cities and towns.

Taking place from Friday, Feb. 27 to Sunday, Mar. 1 at the Centre for Social Innovation, the two-and-a-half-day event will feature 20+ workshops on everything from evaluation to storytelling, markets to fundraising, community action to purchasing policies, and gardens to reducing barriers to program access. 

In our plenary session, Groundshift — How community food programs can create change on a personal, community, and political level, panellists Dr. Mike Evans, Damian Adjodha, and Dr. Valerie Tarasuk will present their take on using food to make change at the individual, community and national levels.

We’re looking forward to learning from one another and having lots of practical discussions at our first ever Food Summit. It’s sure to leave us all with new ideas, inspiration, and practical tools to help us all take our collective work to the next level!
