One of the best things about working at CFCC is that we get to know and partner with creative, inspiring people driven by their passion to make the world a better place through food.
Last month, one of our newest Good Food Builders, Wholly Veggie, ran an awesome Mother’s Day promotion in support of our work and we were so impressed with their ingenuity that we just had to give them a special shout-out.
Co-founders David Gaucher and John Bonnell started Wholly Veggie as two friends who believed that the world would be a better and more sustainable place with more veggies on our plates. They do that by creating veggie-based products made with simple ingredients.
“We decided to partner with Community Food Centres Canada and become a Good Food Builder to help spread the message,” says John.
This Mother’s Day, Wholly Veggie decided to help turn a gift for mom into a gift for someone using a Community Food Centre. In partnership with Toronto apparel company 24CarrotCo, they created a line of beautiful limited edition tote bags and donated 50 per cent of the proceeds from each bag to CFCC.
Thanks to this unique and generous idea, Wholly Veggie is helping more Canadians access food programs that build health, belonging, and social justice.
