When asked about why Weight Watchers (WW) chooses to support Community Food Centres Canada (CFCC), WW President and CEO Mindy Grossman is quick to respond:
“In our effort to ignite our members’ passion and care for their local communities - as well as their networks of family, friends and colleagues - we look for ways to improve health and wellness and make it more accessible to everyone,” she says.
“Community Food Centres Canada is an ideal partner for us as we have sought to support under-served communities and help them become healthier in the ways that make sense to them,” Mrs. Grossman ads.
Building on WW’s tremendous support in 2018, the organization hosted a series of different events this year to help raise funds for CFCC, including a 5K walk in Oakville, Ontario and multiple Big Social events across the country.
All of the recent events show how passionate and caring WW members are about creating healthier lifestyles for everyone in Canada.
“As a global purpose-driven brand, we have the capability and are committed to making communities healthier and make healthy habits accessible to all, not just the few,” says Mrs Grossman.
“We have the reach across Canada and want to use our platform to take our principles and beliefs and help in whatever ways we can to make sure that everyone has access to those healthy habits we are trying to instill in Canadians.”
Thanks to WW’s generous support and passion for local communities, its members have helped raise close to $60,000 in support of Community Food Centres across Canada this year.
