People and programs
We believe that where space matters, people matter. At the heart of the Community Food Centre's approach to food in low-income communities is dignified physical space. We believe it’s imperative to create multi-functional spaces that make people feel welcome, respected and safe, and allow them to access the food, friendship and skills they need to lead healthy lives.
A big part of the work we do with our partners is investing in transforming existing spaces into accessible and vibrant community gathering places with kitchens, gardens and meal rooms where people feel safe and respected, and where they can access many programs and supports under one roof.
