People and programs 12/06/2021

“Every single dish we make here at Royal Aleppo Foods is made with love.

Our Syrian and Middle Eastern recipes were my grandmother's, and my mother makes them with such pridethe way we make food for our own families.

Our customers tell us that our falafel is the best in town! And if you’re craving something sweet, our baklava is very beloved by both our family and our customers.

My mother and I were part of the Culture Kitchen program with Roots to Harvest. That program made me feel that I truly belong here. I am proud to be part of connecting other women refugees, sharing our stories, and making food together. As my experience has grown, I’ve been inspired to find my own way to give back and do my part in our community. When you get help, you want to give help back.

Everything we learned from Roots is part of our restaurant today. We love sharing our food and culture with our neighbours.

And I want everyone reading this, who supports Roots to Harvest and Community Food Centres Canada, to know how grateful we are for your support. With your support, you are helping lots of people build new lives and follow their dreams."
