Frequently Asked Questions
I need help. Where can I get food?
Right now, some of our Community Food Centres are offering takeaway meals or food hampers.
Check in with the CFC closest to you to see what they have available. You can find all of our CFC partners here. Try their Facebook pages first as they are often posting daily updates about what is available.
If there isn’t a CFC close to you, check the Food Banks Canada directory to see if there’s a food bank in your community.
You can also find food banks by province:
Try to call or check their social media before you visit — hours are changing often.
Or via your local 211:
I want to help. What can I do?
The very best way you can help right now is to make a donation to our Good Food Access Fund.
Through the Fund, we are making sure our partner Community Food Centres and Good Food Organizations can distribute meals, food and grocery cards to those who need it most. They are best able to respond to their local needs by purchasing the supplies required locally.
Can I donate food?
Our CFCs are not accepting food donations right now. But you can check Food Banks Canada’s directory to see if a food bank near you is. Check their website or social media for the latest information on whether they are accepting donations, how to donate and what they’re looking for.
How can I volunteer?
Most front-line organizations are limiting volunteers right now to keep everyone safe and healthy, but some may need help with home deliveries of hampers and meals.
Reach out directly to your local CFC or GFO to see if they need help. Check their website and social media channels for the most up-to-date information.
