The Chef Bootcamp for Policy and Social Change is an intensive two-day session that gives chefs with a demonstrated interest in food and social issues the knowledge and tools they need to become effective ambassadors and advocates for social change.
Inspired by the James Beard Foundation’s long-running workshop, which has graduated chefs like Tom Colicchio and Hugh Acheson, the Chef Bootcamp for Policy and Social Change is an opportunity for Canadian chefs to develop their understanding of the challenges facing the Canadian food system, what’s at stake, and ways they can help to move the dial and contribute to building a healthy and fair food system.
The bootcamp is presented by Community Food Centres Canada. The inaugural session took place August 12-14, 2018 at The New Farm, an organic family farm in Creemore, ON.
