Community food programs can significantly improve the health and well-being of low-income individuals, and help communities thrive. The programs we fund and develop work to combat poverty, food insecurity, and poor health by increasing access to healthy food; supporting people to build their skills and knowledge around healthy food; and creating opportunities for low-income Canadians to become leaders and advocates for policies that reduce poverty and inequality. We meet people where they’re at and work with them toward the changes they want to make. As an organization, we hold ourselves to a high standard. We design our programs based on current research and the growing body of knowledge we gain from those in our sector. We strive to have enough resources to have positive impact, and we deliver funding with impact in mind.
